About

BxSites is a general-purpose static site generator written in BoxLang - point it at a docs/ folder and get a themed, searchable static site out, with the same toolkit whether you're building reference documentation, a blog, a marketing site, or a knowledge base. It's built on top of bx-markdown, in the spirit of mkdocs, and this very site is built by BxSites itself, from the Markdown files in its own docs/ folder.

Who builds it

BxSites is built and maintained by Ortus Solutions, Corp, the makers of BoxLang, ColdBox, CommandBox, and the rest of the BoxLang ecosystem - the same team building the runtime BxSites itself runs on.

With 20+ years building, supporting, and shipping open-source tooling for the CFML and now BoxLang ecosystems, Ortus Solutions isn't a side project - open source is the core business. That trajectory is what makes BxSites (and the rest of the BoxLang stack) something teams can build on with confidence: it's backed by a company with a two-decade track record of maintaining what it ships.

Support the project

BxSites is free and open source, and it always will be. The easiest way to support it costs nothing: star the repo on GitHub - it helps other developers find the project and is a real signal to the maintainers that it's worth keeping going.

If you'd like to go further, the best way to support its continued development - along with BoxLang and the rest of Ortus Solutions' open-source work - is to become a sponsor on Patreon:

See Contribute for other ways to support the project, including code contributions and one-time donations.
